Welcome to the Burning Bush Community Blog!

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for coming to the Burning Bush Community Blog! We are truly grateful that you have taken the time to check us out and see what God is up to through our very imperfect and very young ministry network... And someday when we're all rich and famous you'll have the privilege of saying you were one of the first blog followers! (Okay, maybe not.)

But in all seriousness, we are thankful for each of our supporters and for each person interested in this strange looking animal we call "Burning Bush Communities" (BBC hereafter). In brief, we are a network of small communities who are striving to embody, serve and celebrate the Kingdom of God and working for the flourishing of our city. We have many different types of communities, ranging from those who feed and care for the homeless, to micro-churches, to groups exploring Jesus and spirituality and doing life together. And the point of all this is to make disciples of Jesus (i.e. people who love and obey him, and reflect his character) among those who don't fit the mold of our mainstream churches, and who are frankly tired of the way the institutional church functions in our culture.

Now that you know just a bit about us let me tell you what you can expect on this blog. I plan on regularly posting here:
  • Updates about our different communities and how God is at work in them,
  • Devotional materials for people in our communities to think and pray over,
  • Opportunities for volunteers and partners to join,
  • Brief teaching videos,
  • And anything else that seems relevant to our work.
So with our introductions out of the way, we look forward to the journey ahead with you!
